I remember this one! What a SCHORCG I remember this one! What a SCHORCHER! Also appeared on the other 16-bit machines like the MegaDrive and I think the Super Nintendo!

I used to play this with my cousin, oh the battles we used to have! The graphics aren't amazing, the sfx aren't that good but it got good music and it's amazingly playable!

lol i really dont get the cats who argue about whether a sequel is better or moaning about stuff like missiles....this game rocks....simple as.....the original was cool, and so is this....both for different reasons.....now what they SHOULD have done, was what Gremlin did with Lotus, they should have made a Super Cars 3, that had the option to take the best of SC1 and the best of SC2 and put them together as a customisable race.....but alas, we only got 2 games and my dream as a games designer never materialised hehe

This was a class game. I wish I could get a hold of a copy for my PC. I haven't found a game like it yet. Hours and hours of fun on a floppy disc! Bring back the old days! Sigh...

Fantastic game ! Smooth, fantastic gfx and good sound... and like everyone says ' Fanatastic 2 player mode' !! 2 players at the same time was an uncommon thing back then, now every game has it. But that made it all the more special back then.

Hmmmm....... I didnt think this was as good as Super Cars 1..... Still OK, but SC1 was the best.....

This is one of my fav games on the ST, Super Cars 2 is much better than the first game and using the weapons is alot of fun. The best thing about this game is the 2player mode which makes it even more playable.

I used to play this game alone in level. What I mean? After some levels of making money (buying cheap amunition and selling it expensive), I was ending with 50-99 missiles or homers. I spend all those on other cars and one by one the opponents was decimated, until I was the Level Emperor! Sometimes physical obstacles such as trains helped this dirty work. When on 2 players game, if we couldn't afford 50 missiles we bought about 20. One player shoots his/her missiles at opponents and the other waits at the point where the cars are recovered. I recomend you to try it!

This game was great!!! The 2 player mode kick ass!!! If you like it try Jupiter Masterdrive... the first part of supercars was so crappy...
kirsten yates wrote ...2003-04-16 18:16:24
I always loved top-down racers and this is one of the best there is. The multi-choice conversations were cool too, especially when you were trying to haggle for a new car.
ToYotis wrote ...2003-03-22 17:02:48
You can download the game from http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hkcisonline/disks/ZUUL120.ZIP in .MSA format. I have never played the Hard Levels 6 and 7 in my atari ST because my ST disk was broken! Thanks to emulators, I play these levels in my PC!

This game is still great fun to play. There's not many ST games that you can still while away hours on, but this is one of them. The comedy interviews between races still bring a smile to my face. It can get frustrating though, when short cuts close on your car, the train arrives at just the wrong time, or your lose your first place on the last lap because some idiot left a mine in the middle of the road.

I'm with steve, this game is a true classic on the Atari ST.
Steven Grant wrote ...2002-10-12 22:19:39
Guys, I couldn't disagree more. I think Supercars 2 is far superior to the first game, I think the weapons add playability if anything- the graphics are better but the sound is standard STFM poor. I whiled many many hours away 12 years ago playing this game and I still remember it fondly
Darkbee wrote ...2002-05-18 09:16:35
No point arguing about what might of been, if you wanted a good two player challenge without weapons then you should have has a gentlemans agreement no to use them. I don't want to detract that this was an excellent game. Just as much fun as the original if not better. The two player mode was hilarious and the graphics were colourful and improved. Music was good but got a bit annoying after a while. Overall a fantastically entertaining game.
Ross Snowdon wrote ...2002-02-28 15:29:43
This game should have been called "supercars 2: Not as good as the orginal". The bombs and missiles totally spoilt it.
Jason West wrote ...2002-01-21 11:40:06
this games is a classic, the 2 player mode made this game a must have.
Feige wrote ...2002-01-18 05:10:22
Oh no! Super Cars 1 was great (and would have been better without weapons), Super Cars 2 would have been brilliant without weapons! How can anyone destroy such a great racing game by adding such a shit?! Finally a 2 player game! Finally better grafix! But if I want to make things explode I go and play Wings of Death.
abdul wrote ...2002-01-18 04:37:53
Brilliant.... Just the thing after sitting for hours in the traffic coming home from the office. However, I miss hte bargaining fun with the dogey dealer from the first version
Hyrax wrote ...2002-01-16 01:02:08
I agree with everyone here!
guy ross wrote ...2002-01-06 15:39:11
far better than the first (which is still a good game)... coz it added MISSILES!.. and mines!..... great two player fun (even if the scrolling was a bit dodgy :P)... good fun to play
Andreas Franzen wrote ...2001-12-14 02:23:09
Quite simple really, but lots of fun. Challenge a friend and blow him up with a missile.
Ian Perrett wrote ...2001-12-03 07:31:13
This was the greatest, hours of fun playing this wonderful game. And now I have just got it for my PC, so more hours of fun.

Super Cars 2 is a great game, especially in 2 player mode! Lots of circuits with tight curves, railroad tracks, opening doors, jumps...Upgrade your car with rockets and let the mayhem begin! Typ in "I walk the hill" and "Inwards" as the player names for unlimmited money!
Matthias Arndt wrote ...2001-11-02 10:38:22
My alltime favourite ST racing game! I can only say: go get it!
