As far as god games on the ST went this was the daddy. I thought Mega Lo Mania and Populous 2 were pretty good before I got my hands on it, but afterwards I barely loaded them at all. Book me a slot on the next flight to Alpha Centauri!

Stunning game, pitty our computer started to slow up latter on in the game. Many happy hours of a youthfull childhood spent on this game. Must have played the game a good 500 hours.

I never liked Civilization 1. I did enjoy looking at the intro though. Later on I played Test Of Time and Civ 3 countless times and I am a mini civ fanatic now. But never the original for some strange reason. Great strategy game though that should be in everyones library. Do go for the Civ3 for the PC though, buy it and buy the conquests expanion pack. A true jewel for a game!

I loved it!!! Shame it kept crashing though when looking for a certain picture file. :(

Yeah, I agree that Civ probably does give you an idea about how the world works, even apart from all the information sections when you get a new advance. Just as addictive as the later versions of Civ.

platform? Anyway, the best strategy game ever made and I played this a LOT when I was younger. I remember getting this for my birthday along with another game (I think was Frontier) and I played this non-stop for days...

Civilisation is a game in which you build cities and discover, research and conquer foreign nations. It is a new type of game and gives you an impression how real history works. Maybe best platform game ever.
