Got this with my ST Power Pack back in '88 I believe. Used to play it for hours. I remember that the disk drive motor used to make a revolution every time you hit something with the ball (don't think the light came on) and it creeped me out the first time I heard it as it was a quiet night in the house and I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from.

Forget super breakout or all this crap nowadays ... arkanoid was and is always goin to be the best paddle game i ever played, soooo many levels. the brain at the end is hellish though! good fun.

I have to agree with Rico, Krypton egg is probably the best game in this category although arkanoid is more of a classic

My dad sneered at this because he liked Bolo soo much. With all these mouse games he'd get so mad and slam the mouse on the desk. He eventually broke it... "these f*ing atari mice!" I loved the game, but I couldn't play it much after dad broke the mouse :o)

I have many more memories of Arkanoid II: Revenge of Doh more than the first one. I remember playing this game a lot back when my brother used to own an Atari ST computer. My dad used to play this game all the time and did so good on it that he entered his initials in all five places (I think) in the hall of fame. At that time, he was very addicted to the game and my mom came in the computer room one day and wanted him to stop playing it for a while since he had been playing it for hours. I remember that time very well. Even my brother gets flashbacks when he plays Arkanoid II: Revenge of Doh. Arkanoid II: Revenge of Doh can be found on Automation compact disk 3, Fuzion compact disk 12, Zuul compact disk 16 and Lemmings compact disk 33.

I used to sit for hours with this classic game. I sure can recommend a similar, maybe better game "Krypton egg".

It was the first game I had for the Atari my parents gave me... and I still haven't got a arkanoid-type game to replace the original :D

This is much betetr than the first part although it is pretty hard. Better use a trained version. BTW I never managed to get past the brain on the end. Has this game some sort of ending beyond that brain?
