Further to my last point, yes, it was developed by Sensible Software, at least on the Commodore machines. A very good football game, at that point in time. It was also known as 'Six-a-Side Soccer' as well.

Microprose Soccer was developed by the same people who went on to do Sensible Soccer, if my memory serves. So you could say they just improved the formula.

This game seemed pretty good until Kick Off 2 and Sensible Soccer came out. Quite good graphics and I remeber it was quite good fun. Perhaps the 3rd best footie game on the ST ....
