Fantastic game! One of my favorites.

Some of the tracks really made me dizzy, and serial link play was cool :)
Stevie B wrote ...2006-05-02 03:37:29
additional:- the thing i remember about this most was, flying up ramps too fast, and then having about 8 seconds in the air to wonder whether the vehicle frame was gonna bust on landing hahaha
Stevie B wrote ...2006-05-02 03:36:00
great game....most people seem to hold it in high value which is good to see as it was always a personal favey of mine.....really boring polygon graphics but as commented before, its the gameplay that shined through the most.....and this game actually DOES give you butterflies in your stomach when you go flying over that jump too fast!! true classic

What a memories, I remember when I invited some friends to play the game, the ramps almost makes them jump from their seats. And the first person looking with the movement of the wheels makes you feel as if you really were inside the car.

Best. Game. Ever. I remember my brother making a null modem cable adapter from a regular modem cable by drilling holes in a big pink erasor, lining the holes with aluminum foil and connecting all the wires to the modem cable so the ST would use it correctly. All to play STR via the cable on two STs...ah, the races we had! There are rumors that a new version is in the works for PCs!

I remember me and a cousin of mine, who had an Amiga, linking our computers together and playing against each other. It was great fun! This was indeed a game that was as good on the ST as on the Amiga (which my cousin hardly could accept).

this game is the best, i had the chance to play link up with a mate and we played for hours, like classics it's not the graphics or sound, it's the gameplay.

This is a true classic. I regularly used to play this linked my my best friend. Utterly brilliant!!
groovykid wrote ...2002-01-19 19:05:42
definitly one of the top 10 games you can play on Atari (& Amiga too)
guy ross wrote ...2002-01-16 19:45:26
Oh yeah, as an after-thought, I've just remembered... being a 3D game, it was better to play on the ST than on the amiga (well, it ran smoother), hah hah.

One of my all time favs for sure.
guy ross wrote ...2001-12-19 19:15:42
awesome game! - just burning up a steep slope for the first time, reaching the top, then finding the was a corner after it and you're 50 metres past it. With no road below you. Just fun, fun, fun. I'm glad I didn't go out much when I was younger :p

Geoff Crammond ownz j00. :) A great early game from the creator of the Formula 1 Grand Prix series.

I agree, a definite must-play!!! It's easy to learn and hard to master and just as Mark Ashford said: it's sooooo addictive. The best thing about this was the head to head mode where you could link ST's and/or Amigas together. Nothing beats kicking your opponent out of a banked curve and watch the painful expression on his face as his car's frame meets its certain destiny on impact. This racer is still in my all-time Top 10 list of great sports games. If you haven't played it yet, you owe it to yourself....

Awesome game, I'll get some snapshots for you tomorrow rich!
yves simon wrote ...2001-11-10 15:59:29
prehaps the best ST race game.
Mark Ashford wrote ...2001-11-05 10:43:25
This is one of the true classic ST games, just so playable and addictive. The graphics and sound may be fairly poor, but who cares when the game's this good? Put simply, it's all about a series of one-on-one races around a variety of wild stunt tracks, with banked curves and huge jumps. One of the best things about this game on the ST was that you could link up two STs (or even an ST to an Amiga) and race multiplayer on separate screens. If you've never seen this game, you must get it!
