I remember there were arguments as to how to pronounce the title of this game back in the day. I always thought it was pronounced "ex-out" (as in the letter 'X') but others were adamant that it was "Cross Out". Then the sequel was called 'Z-Out', so I was vindicated.. :-D

After R-Type, it was the second good game of his category I have play since 12 years. The intro look like a movie and the songs were pretty good. You can hear an extract of song game in my nostalgia web site of atari (atari-st.fr.st).
