One of my favourite ST strategy games. You were in the 18-19th century India. Part of it is occupied by the british, other by the french and most of it by different rajas (sp?) local rulers if you wish. You take control of one of the above. You have to develop your teritorries, militaraly, economicaly, education etc. The game has some beautiful graphics. Just very good! It has several arcade sequences. Like tiger hunting (think of operation wolf or prohibition but you are not moving, the tigers are), elephant racing, fencing (for your life :-) ) . All of them very good done. I can't remember right now if there was any multiplayer in the game though. If you took the french or the british you had some advantages, like good army, good economy, but not enough numbers potentialy. You just had to expand. But the armies could be expensive. Unless though you built them in a territory that is not as developed, thus the army is less good but cheaper. You get the picture. Ah, yes, the battles, you can either autoresolve them or fight them on your own, and they are very good I must say. You have both of the armies on opposite sides divided into units like elephants, types of infantry and cavalry, artilery, command tents etc. You can give commands to each unit seperately if I remember correctly. Your units could retreat if losing badly or if just have bad morale. The terrain type is very important for the battles. Elephant units can't move fast and move very slow in swamps for example, plus there are apart from movements bonuses attack and defend bonuses. Oh man, its just a freaking great strategy game!!! 5/5 stars.
