I loved this game. Played it and played it until I completed it finally killing the boss of bosses at the end. And guess what? you start again and go round again but you start with so many weapons and lives as a reward

Oh I love this game. It epitomises everything that 16-bit gaming meant to me in the early 90's. Crisp, bold, colourful graphics, involving gameplay, and a surprising atmosphere, there's a good reason why this is often heralded as the Bitmaps' finest hour.

Bitmap Brothers rule! Great game both on ST and Amiga. Just wonder why the ST scrolling was converted 1:1 to the Amiga lol but who cares. A fantastic looking, excellent game.

after an absence of 3 years, I'm back on the emu scene and there's no better game to start with than Gods (on ANY format). If I remember correctly, the Amiga had the same music as the ST version....I actually think this is one of those games that cant really be seperated between the ST and Amiga versions, there's not much difference between the two, both very good. Recently learned trivia:- early (botched) attempts to crack this game (by crews who shall go nameless), resulted in an anti crack feature that the game's difficulty was set mega high.....meaning.....if you had the original (bought) version, you had an easy version of the game.....if you had a cracked version of the game, there was a high chance that you had the mega difficult version.....this was a creative way to attack the cracking "problem" and this is the reason to the notoriously high difficulty of some versions.......a CLASSIC of a game....Salut!

I only had the ST format demo, but played it to death. It was hard with all those switches though so I never even completed that!

This was the best Bitmap Brothers platformer ever. I got to the final boss but couldn't beat him. I played it the other day and couldn't get past the first boss. Old age must be setting in. Was it just me, or did the Amiga version not have the cool title track 'Into the Wonderful'?

Anyone knows how to remap right click in SainT? The fire button only works pressing right mouse button... I think is one of the best games from Bitmap Brothers

Gods is definitely one of those games you keep on your computer for years and years and years, with its playability never dropping... This is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of Bitmap Brothers' creative genius

This is one great game! This one is somewhat special to me, because it was the first really good platform game I think. I played it much with various friends and on my own, it was really something special. So, I don't really have one fond memory of this one, and in order not to write a whole review, I'll stop here.

I remember playing this over at my friends house back in the day. Every time I would go over to his house I would ask him to death to load this game so I could play it. He was obviously bored to death with it because he played it a million more times than I did, but I never got to play it so I always wanted to. What I remember the most about this game besides the best side scrolling graphics I had seen at the time was the music. That voice that says "INTO THE WONDERFUL" , I was in aww by the music and I wanted to listen to it over and over and over, then I didn't go over there anymore for a long time. I have always remembered that soundtrack to this day and now after so long of not hearing it , it is back in a pair of speakers in front of me on my pc not his. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA I can't help but feel like I am 13 again playing the game and listening to the music. Thx you guys, you have made my life a little brighter.

The first thing I said when I first saw this game was WOW WHAT WICKED GRAPHICS, and from that stage my opinion in general about the game just got better and better AND BETTER. Brilliant platform game, lots of fun puzzles, and a heck of a playability + hours sort of game. This one will keep you going forever. Gods is certainly there to impress and it achieves it perfectly with a style only the Bitmap Brothers could ever achieve!!!!!
James Fredericks wrote ...2001-11-05 15:26:34
I loved this game... It was kinda hard, but it was always fun. And the graphics rule as well. What can I say? The Bitmap Brothers always make winners! I was more impressed with this game than any other on the ST as far as graphics and sound.

Gods is one of the best platform games for the ST. Another winner from the Bitmap Brothers. Great graphics and sound effects (I just love the intro track - download the mod file!) combined with some brain teasing puzzles. And as in good old platform tradition - every world has got its own end boss. It's a bit hard for beginners but definitely word a try!
